Sammie George Belt, 82 of the Joy, KY passed away on December 26, 2020 at the Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center in Paducah.
Sammie was born in Irma, KY on August 9, 1938 to the late Abraham Lincoln Belt and Eddie Reba (Curnel) Belt.
Mr. Belt was a farmer and had worked at Three Rivers Rock Quarry for 38 years before retiring as a supervisor and yard loader operator.
He is survived by his much loved daughter Tammy Belt of Joy, KY; one sister Alma Aline Tabor of Marion, KY; two brothers: BoeDean Belt (Judy) of Las Cruces, NM and Hurley Ray Belt (Alice) of Morganfield, KY; and several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Betty Jean (Curry) Belt; brother Lincoln Eugene Belt of Joy, KY; and his parents.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Monday, January 4, 2021 in the chapel of Boyd Funeral Directors and Cremation Services. Burial will follow in Carrsville Cemetery.
Friends and family may visit with the family from 5 to 8 PM on Sunday evening, January 3, 2021 in the chapel of Boyd Funeral Directors and Cremation Services in Salem, KY.
