Mr. Richard Romeo Shelby,60, was born in Omaha, Nebraska on August 2, 1965. He passed away from this life and joined his Savior on December 28, 2025.
He loved the Lord and faithfully spent time each day reading and studying the Scriptures. His daughter, Rachael, and her children were the center of his life and his greatest joy. He loved them deeply and lifted them up in prayer constantly.
Richard found great happiness in his lifelong passion for hot rods, muscle cars, and the legendary Shelby Cobra. He was a proud member of the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) and attended hundreds of races over the years. Through his work with Mac Tools, he built lasting friendships with many drivers. A devoted admirer of Carroll Shelby, he followed his life and accomplishments with great enthusiasm.
He worked as a mechanic and a truck driver, careers that reflected his strong work ethic and love for machines.
Richard is survived by; daughter, Rachael E. Shelby of AZ; sisters, Mary C. (Alan) Harrington of Lenoir City, TN., Susan S (Mark) Peachy of Eldorado, WI. And Dorothy E (William) “Randy” Schafer of Brooklet, GA.; grandchildren, Nathan Peel and Hailey Peel of Az., and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by; parents, Charles E. and Dorothy (Scott) Shelby; grandparents, Richard R and Amy (Gibbs) Shelby and Claude M. and Elsie (Huffer) Scott.
Graveside Services will be 1PM Sunday, January 4, 2026 at Salem Cemetery.
