Mrs. Mary Evelyn (Arflack) Black, 91, of Salem, KY, passed away Sunday, October 23, 2022 at Livingston Hospital and Healthcare Services.

Mary Evelyn was born to Fred and Eva Lee (Kirk) Arflack on October 16, 1931.   She was a member of the American Legion Post 217 Ladies Auxillary.  She was a homemaker a majority of her life after marrying her husband, Quentin Black, in 1951.

She is survived by two daughters, MJ Gilland of Salem and Lila (Kenny) Edmondson of Marion; one son, Glenn “Chug” Black of Salem; one sister, Betty Loveless of Salem; one brother, Robert Arflack of Salem; and three grandchildren, Chad Black, Bill Black, and Alexa Black.

She was preceded in death by one son, Tommy Black; one brother, Clifton Arflack; and her parents.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, October 26, 2022, at 2 PM, in the chapel of Boyd Funeral Directors and Cremation Services.  Burial will follow in Lola Cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family Wednesday from 11 AM until the funeral hour at Boyd Funeral Directors and Cremation Services.
