Hershel B Evans

Mr. Hershel Evans, 84, of Smithland, KY, passed from this life Saturday, March 5, 2022, at Deaconess Midtown Hospital.

He was a member of Smithland United Methodist Church. He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force and served his country for 12 years. He enjoyed joking around, eating out, his family, and his tractor.

Mr. Evans was born on October 9, 1937 to Merl and Agnes Westerman Evans.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Marletta Evans of Smithland, KY; three sons, Evan Evans, Cobie Evans of Smithland, Sonny Evans (Tessa) of Smithland; two sisters, Merylene Evans of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and Pat Starnes of Ledbetter; and three step-grandchildren Darrien, Dommnic and Dallton.

He was preceeded in death by a sister Sondra Schlattmann; brother David Mac Evans; and his parents.

Graveside services will be 2:00 PM, Thursday, March, 10, 2022, at Smithland Cemetery with Military Honors. Officiating will be Rev. Joel Jackson.

Arrangements will be in the care of Boyd Funeral Directors and Cremation Services in Salem, KY.
