A Husband And Father Who Died Too Early

On Wednesday, August 17, 2022. The Reed family lost their hero, due to a massive heart attack. Everett M. Reed went home and gained his wings. He now flies high and he is watching over his family.

Mr. Reed was born in Salem, KY on February 10, 1961. He attended the Livingston School system. Mr. Reed started his adult life at a very young age, working on a farm. In March of 1986 he met the woman he would soon come to marry. In that same year Mr. Reed also started his life long career in the river industry. Mr. Reed made his way up the ladder to become a very respected towboat Captain over the past 36 years.

Family and friends will be able to pay their respects at Boyd Funeral Directors and Cremation Services in Salem, KY on Tuesday, August 23, 2022, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Boyd Funeral Directors and Cremation Services. Burial to follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery.

Everett is survived by his wife, Sharon Reed, three sons; Everett Lane, William, and John Reed; brother, Charles Reed, 12 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Everett was preceded in death by his mother and father, Charles and Louis Reed, sisters; Wanda Cobb and Dortha Hardin, and one brother James Reed.
