Lincoln Eugene Belt

Mr. Lincoln Eugene Belt known by everyone as Gene passed away March 23rd, 2019 at Baptist Health Paducah surrounded by his loving family. 

He was born April 4, 1937 in Crittenden County, KY, and was a kind and gentle man to everyone he met and always willing to help others.  Gene was dedicated to providing for his family.  He was a very loving husband, father, grandfather and brother.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and spending time with his family.

He left behind his devoted and loving wife of 60 years, Joyce Quertermous Belt; his children, Gregory Belt of Joy, Regina Taylor of Henderson, Stephen Belt of Salem, Tina Clark of Lewistown, Mo, Robert (Carla) Belt of Ledbetter, Karen (Barney) Shockley of Henderson, and Joe Belt of Joy; siblings, Sammy Belt, Ailene Tabor, Bodene (Judy) Belt, and Hurley Roy (Alice) Belt; eighteen grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren.

Gene had been a hard worker his whole life while spending most of it working on the river.  He was retired from Walker’s Boat Yard and later James Marine.  At the time of his death he was employed by the Livingston County Convenience Center.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Abraham Lincoln and Edy Reba Curnel Belt; and grandson, Robert Glen Belt, Jr., known as little Robert by his papaw.

Funeral services will be 1 PM, Tuesday, March 26, 2019, at Boyd Funeral Directors and Cremation Services.  Burial will follow at Carrsville Cemetery. 

Friends may visit from 5 to 8 PM, Monday, March 25, 2019, in the chapel of Boyd Funeral Directors and Cremation Services in Salem, KY.
