Dorothy (Norman) Smiley

Mrs. Dorothy Norman Smiley, 97, of Paducah, KY, passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2019 at Superior Care Home in Paducah, KY, just a few days shy of her 98th birthday.

Mrs. Smiley enjoyed flower gardening, canning, making soap, knitting, crocheting, doing needlework and quilting.  She was a homemaker who delivered Avon and was a member of Reidland United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Eaton of Metropolis, IL; son, George Smiley, III, (Carol) of Knoxville, TN; grandchildren, Angela Eaton Hamilton of Springfield, IL; George H. “Tucker” Smiley, IV, (Katie) of Newton, CT, and Caitlin Taylor Smiley of Chicago, IL; and great grandchildren, Clare, Cole, Caleb and George H. Smiley, V.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George H. Smiley, II; and her parents, W. V. and Alice George Norman.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM, Saturday, March 23, 2019 in the chapel of Boyd Funeral Directors and Cremation Services in Salem, KY.  Burial will follow at Salem Cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, March 23, 2019 from 1:00 PM until the funeral hour in the chapel of Boyd Funeral Directors and Cremation Services.
