Ardys Hooper Obituary

Mr. Ardys Phillip Hooper, 77, of Smithland, KY, passed away Friday, September 13, 2019 at his home.

Mr. Hooper was born in Eastland, TX to Garland Hooper and Jean (Hurst) Funderburgh. He retired from Owens Corning Fiberglass Company in Santa Clara, Ca, where he had been a crew leader and fork life operator. He served in the 101st Airborne, in the United States Army. Mr. Hooper was an avid coin collector, who loved western movies, and liked traveling the southwest United States. He was a lifetime member of the NRA, member of the Glass Blowers Union, and of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sandra Rogers Hooper; one son, Kipp and Dana Hooper of Hillsboro, MO; one daughter, Kristie Hildebrand and Donald Faulkner of Smithland, KY; five grandchildren: Trevor and Hayley Hooper; and Phillip, Hollis and Krissandra Smith; and three great grandchildren: Finley, Holli and Kenneth Smith.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Cremation was chosen at Mr. Hooper’s request.
